Honeywell’s Spokane Facility Fact Sheet
Type of Facility: One of the world’s largest and most vertically integrated producer’s of high-purity metals and sputtering targets used for semiconductor manufacturing. A Honeywell Research and Development Center of Excellence for metallurgy and metallization technologies.

  • 200, 300 and 450mm sputtering targets and coil sets in multiple metals and purities
  • RadLo Low Alpha materials

  • Die attach materials (lead and lead-free solder wire, high-purity evaporation charges)

Employment: Honeywell’s Spokane site employs approximately 250 workers, including 160 production and maintenance employees.
History: The plant has operated continuously since it was built in 1961 by Cominco Electronic Materials. Cominco was acquired by Johnson Matthey in 1989 and later purchased by Honeywell in 1999.  The site is located in the Spokane Valley Industrial Park and has over 192,000 square feet of manufacturing space.

Plant Economics: Honeywell spends approximately $6 million per year for goods and services in the local community to support the operation of the Spokane plant. In 2012, the Spokane facility paid more than $800,000 in local property and use taxes, as well as over $18 million to its employees in salaries and benefits.
Plant Investments: In the past ten years, Honeywell has invested approximately $25 million in its Spokane plant. Most recently, the plant executed a project to more than double its refining and casting capacity for high purity copper and tin.
